Community Based Victim Services - Domestic Violence Unit

This program exists to help victims and witnesses of power-based crime to navigate the criminal justice, family law and other systems and works to assess each referral and apply the appropriate response within all relevant policies and procedures. The caseworker will provide individual support, advocacy, court orientation related to criminal proceedings where they are the victim, court and appointment accompaniment, assistance with necessary forms and referrals/information regarding other services in the community. This may include support with immediate Family Law Protection Orders and referrals to family law resources in coordination with RCMP, Interagency Case Assessment Team (ICAT), and Police Based Victim Services.
