Just Released: Our Blog & Your Impact

We are thrilled to launch the Kelowna Women’s Shelter new blog, and what better way to do so than with a post about the incredible impact you helped us achieve last year! Thanks to you, our network of supporters, donors, and community, we were able to make a big difference in the lives of women and children who have or are experiencing domestic abuse in our community. Thank you for your continued commitment to the important work we are doing. It would not be possible without you.

An infographic demonstrating the 2023 results from the Kelowna Women’s Shelter.     Provided safe and supportive emergency housing for 109 women and 76 children and youth at the Kelowna Transition House. Provided over 420 safety and/or exit plans across all KWS programs. Served 180 children and youth through our PEACE program, which provides psychoeducational support to children and youth aged 3-18 who have experienced domestic abuse.  1145 domestic abuse support phone calls were received from women and community members.   Over 82% of women who accesses services at the Kelowna Transition did not return to the abuser.  42% of women accessing services with Outreach did not return to the abuser.
